Am I eligible? - Quiz


You need to meet the basic requirements of the Korean immigration office to be eligible for a Ministry of Education Public School Native English Speaking Teacher position so please read and answer the following questions to find out if you meet the minimum requirements.


1. Are you a citizen of one of the following Native English Speaking Countries?

· USA

· Canada

· England

· Australia

· New Zealand

· South Africa

· Ireland


If you answered "NO", unfortunately you are not eligible to apply. All eligible candidates must be citizens of one of the above countries.

2. Are you a graduate (or nearing completion) of an accredited 4-year University with a degree in any field (BA/BS) - More detail

If you answered "YES", congratulations you are eligible to apply. All Public School Native English Speaking Teachers must posses a minimum of at least a BA or BS degree in any field from an accredited university.


3. Have you been convicted of a felony? (Including a DUI conviction. All applicants must provide a criminal background CBC).

If you answered "YES" you are not eligible. All candidates must provide a criminal back ground check that has been apostilled by the government.

4. Are you in good general physical and mental health and able to pass a medical exam and  test?

All successful candidates will be screened for existing medical conditions as well as drug screened for illegal drugs. If you answered "NO" you are not eligible.

 

5. Are you able to commit to living and working in South Korea for a minimum of one year?

All Public School teaching contracts are for one calendar year. If you are not able to commit to that amount of time you are not eligible.

 

6. Are you able to adapt to living and working in a foreign environment?

South Korea is a foreign culture. The ability to adapt to living and working in a foreign environment is a must.

 

7. Are you able to work independently with your coworkers?

As a Public School teacher in South Korea you will be working both independently, as well as in cooperation with other staffs. Not being able to do so will result in an unsuccessful teaching experience.
